We call them Spuggies , Dad was Scottish & Mum's family mainly Co Durham miners, Sparra was a type of endearment from great uncles too. I'm wondering now what the Vikings named them, but I fear the rabbit holes of goggling atm
To fill you in, I've had a bird in the not so large but tall space here (675sq about). It has happened before. The bird flew in in about 3:00 PM. Left about 5:30ish, thank god. As other birds sang outside, this tiny bird heard nothing.
I was surprised when I was out in NW China in 2009 to find Tree Sparrows in all the niches and places where we would expect House Sparrows (and in huge numbers).
We used to call them McDonald's birds, as they frequented the parking lots looking for leftover french fries.

Love Lev's post-bird era.
Lev, that was ~wicked~.
Glad you didn’t do that 😉
Definitely more posts not about birds please!
I might've mightily enjoyed a wee sparrow post. Pity.
Yeah, sorry.

Spurdies
Do you mind not doing what you are supposed to do like this once in a while please
Sparrows "were introduced to America"?! I can't believe there is anywhere that didn't have sparrows. Mind blown.
