A robin, singing. Always bloody singing. Ok, we get it. Give it a rest. At 4 am, in competition with another one across the road. SHUT UP! (I love them, usually)
The work on biofluorescence of the birds of paradise was done, if I read the article correctly, on skins. If long-dead feathers give off light, it makes me wonder how brilliantly a living bird glows.
That Bird of Paradise was totally flirting with David A!
Saw my first Siskin in my suburban garden this year :-)
Loved the David Attenborough video I thought the beeps were to cover swearing at first so was a bit surprised!
I"m so happy that I'm not the only one who sometimes gets like that about robins!
Also coming back to say that I just splattered tea all over my screen because of the siskin ...
You have a way with words and imagery. Thank you.

Haha. That David Attenborough clip is brilliant! Beautiful murmuration images; I wonder if the lone streaks are birds of prey?
We have a gang of siskins in our Manchester garden. Just arrived in the last couple of days. Chirring and twittering. Swarming the feeders. Love them.
Lovely stuff as usual. Thank you
Those ornithographies are both mesmerizing and terrifying!

I think David was having almost as much fun as the bird!
