Traumatised by the ice thing!! I’m mesmerised by the movement in ice skating races, but they’re on safe, narrow canals!!

Yes, exactly. A cold-sporty friend on Bluesky told me she’s freaked out by it, and would never dream of trying it, so it’s good to know we’re not alone.

Thank you, thank you for Kurt Vonnegut, as ever!

I failed with the network thingy as I wanted to start with J S Bach because there is nowhere else to start, except perhaps, the aforementioned K V.

Yes, good luck finding a photograph of Bach.

Ah - I assumed it included photos of, you know, portraits?

Loved the post-it animation! I have just come across Daniel Johnson and his song Story of an Artist keeps me making art purely because it makes me happy. I would love to learn how to animate and edit videos. Your Nick Cave post reminded me of Kurt Vonnegut's advice about creativity, which you quoted here. And that shape of stories clip is delightful! I'm saving the ice skating film for my mid morning cuppa.

Once again I owe you for a very happily distracted sunday afternoon read/wormholing. I can watch that Kurt V clip everyday

I didn't expect my investigation of the possible network between George Bernard Shaw and Ai Weiwei to include Lady Gaga, but there you go.

The first Nordic Skater video is about Per Sollerman is it not? A wonderful mix of things, as always, thank you.

Loved the animation/post it notes and the story equation. I will try out the form for one of my own stories! Thank you for the inspiration.

I enjoyed the post it animation greatly. My dog was less impressed by the dogs she couldn't find.

I love exploring 6 Things every week and share various bits with my extended family. Alphaguess had my 81 year old father cussing for days.

We’re all impressed by the potato chip factory- discovering gulls, and particularly that they aren’t telling all the others.

The Farne Island terns left me be (I waved my hand back and forth above my head, on advice from the ferry pilot) but my husband bore the scars for several weeks and won’t take “hat recommended” nearly so lightly next time.

Thanks as always, Lev, for delightful distractions on a dark and stormy Saturday
