Oh those are joyous things indeed. I remember advent calendars like those, not in my childhood as v poor family but the o es I bought my son and daughter. So different nowadays. I bought myself an advent calendar day it’s full of different fibres to spin. Ps I always click the heart
The Advent Calendar story brought me joy. We had several Advent Calendars when I was a boy, always one from the Rijksmuseum. This one is splendid. Thank you, I would have missed it.
That music thing really was fun. A touch embarrassing, since I was singing along to almost everything. I love the minutiae in my mental attic but sometimes think it should contain more useful or erudite stuff.
Albatross, maps and music what’s not to love about this offering. Plus an advent calendar. I’m a bit obsessed with them. I have a beautiful Angela Harding one this year with a curlew on the front - magnificent - just lovely illustrations behind every door.
Love the albatross who is older than I am. His botched landing gave me a laugh on this grey day, so thanks for that! Music was fun but now I have Mellow Yellow stuck in my head so thanks for that.
Thank you for those little moments of joy. I’m sitting with my 90 year old Mum who is very unwell but the albatross video of Wisdom made her smile. A very precious moment. And I remember the joy too of advent calendars. Such simple pleasures. Thank you for reigniting that childhood memory.
Being the suspicious sort, I suspect that while out to sea, albatrosses pass on the ring band just to mess with us..
Thank you for the lovely advent calendar. We had one, that was pulled out every year along side the ornaments and the sleigh bells from some long gone ancestor. But the music! I wanted points for recognizing the artist even if I didn't know the song.
Thanks. This was a particularly nice Six things. Except for the music....
Glorious, isn't it?
I will always click a little heart for you Lev. Especially when you offer albatrosses and the West Wing in the same newsletter.
Thanks Rose! Any excuse for a bit of WW.
Better late than never for that glorious Advent calendar.

Absolutely lovely as always...have now become a paid subscriber, because you're worth it!
Thank you so much!
Another marvellous read, thank you
Thanks Mark. Very much looking forward to working my way through Herb and Spice in 2024

She's terrific – and certainly several rungs up the ladder from the pictures in my 1970s calendars.
Thank you so much for such joy x
Especially the *copies and pastes* Rijksmuseum advent calendar.
