And, you mean I'm unusual in having a collection of photos of pavements? Doesn't everyone? Have you seen the variety of gorgeous historical pavements in the Biimingham Jewellery Quarter? And their whimsical heritagelly[..] informative plaques? Why not?
Does this man never sleep? Six really fascinating things this week, a world book tour (or at least British tour), and doing a bit of conducting in his spare time. Next? The London Mayoral are on the horizon!
A fine set of things! And particularly timely since the river Effra seemed to put in an appearance above ground this morning (Thames water burst in Brixton Hill - some incredible clips on Twitter (I refuse to call it X (oh no….)))
This might be my favourite Six Things post, ever.
Mine too! The maps are fascinating
Thanks Nic.
Those maps. Wow! A new fascinated follower here.

Thanks David, but I’ll leave that kind of thing to... other people.
Love these six things!
The population density maps are brilliant!
Great fun guessing the bands from the fans. And two rabbit holes to disappear down... hidden rivers and hummingbirds.
The gig photos! Omg. Quite scared at how obvious a lot of them were. I also found it quite sad? Not sure why.
Part of it is that they were well selected photos, I suppose.

Yes I feared for our water supply for a while there
Thank you for the maps especially, wow aren’t they fascinating?
Lev - have you seen the artist who prints fabrics from manhole covers? https://amp.theguardian.com/cities/2019/nov/15/the-female-pirate-printer-who-creates-fashion-from-manhole-covers
Ooh
Nice!
SOBBED with laughter over James Mollison fan photo of Rod Stewart fans 🤣
Oh yes indeed
Love those maps so much!
There is a lovely mockery of the Mercedes ad with a woman on a farm doing the same to a tractor.
Have you ever read Peter Ackroyd's book London Under?
No! Perhaps I should.
It's about everything under the surface of London, including the submerged rivers you mentioned in the post.
