Thing 1
I’m in The Guardian today, wanging on about stars.
A minute in the eye, a lifetime in the memory.
Thing 2
Related, here is a light pollution map of the UK for you to explore.
Thing 3
You return from holiday and the allotment has had a growing party…
Thing 4
…and there are insects everywhere.
Thing 5
Meanwhile, I was moved by this honest interview by Matej Mohoric after his narrow win on Stage 19 of the Tour de France. Quite apart from the inevitable exhaustion brought on by cycling insane distances for three weeks, the added context is that Mohoric’s team mate Gino Mäder was killed while riding in the Tour de Suisse a few weeks ago.
Thing 6
Finally, I love this, from excellent twitter postman-writer Kevin Boniface.
What an interview, thank you
It's indeed interesting to note the title "England's blight" on the light pollution map from CPRE, especially when it shows light clusters in Wales and Scotland. The presence of light clusters in those areas might be due to responses received, and the blank areas may not necessarily indicate freedom from light pollution. It raises questions about the scope of the data collection and whether similar patterns would emerge with more comprehensive responses from Wales and Scotland. https://bit7.org/drift-boss.html
