I apologise for this extra post entirely devoted to selling. Usually I try to slip it in subtly among other stuff (“look at thBUY MY BOOKis interesting map”), but just this once I’m just going full-on “BUY MY BOOK”. I promise not to make this a regular thing.

Longer version:
Just over five years ago, the crowdfunding campaign for the book that would come to be called Music To Eat Cake By hit its target. Yay!
It was my second book with Unbound, and the result of a 3am idea: as well as crowdfunding to get the book published, I would crowdsource ideas for the content of the book.
Forty pieces, of gradually decreasing length, each on a subject given to me by the funders. Neat, no?
It was great fun, both in the planning and the writing. My loyal readers entered into the spirit, providing me with subjects both comfortable and fiendish.
The bit nobody talks about, of course (nobody ever does) was the inevitable moment, which comes to very nearly all books, when it goes out of print. You don’t think about the end of a book’s life when you’re just at the beginning.
That day has come. I can’t bring myself to be too down about it – it was a niche idea which found its readership, and it did as well as can be expected, I reckon.
What it does mean is that there is a moderate pile of books (a larger pile will be pulped) sitting in my office. If you want one, you can have a signed copy for the glorious knockdown price of £5.
Once they’re gone, they’re gone.
Thanks for your attention.
When I saw the 1 left in stock message, I knew it had to be mine!
I'm glad I clicked on the post; this looks like it's right up my ally. Went ahead and purchased it! Can't wait to read it. Thanks!
