Going wild
A day spent at the Knepp estate yesterday. You may know it as the flagship for ‘rewilding’ (or ‘wilding’, depending on who you talk to). My thoughts, as always when I visit Knepp, are complex. I take this as a good sign, because I mistrust lack of nuance. But processing those thoughts, allowing them to percolate and settle, takes time, and is always subject to change and recalibration (the overall impression is overwhelmingly positive). At some point, if I can wrangle them into some sort of coherent whole) I might share them. Meanwhile, you can read about the Knepp project here.
Until then, here are a very few photos of the walled garden (they have transformed it from a sterile lawn into a heaving landscape of biodiversity). Oh, and some ponies. It is a place very much worth visiting.
